Environmental quality assessment of sandy beaches in Ha Long - Cat Ba area (Vietnam)

نویسندگان

چکیده

The environmental quality of 6 famous sand beaches the Ha Long - Cat Ba area was surveyed in July 2018 (the rainy season) and March 2019 dry season). results showed that pore water layer below surface contained some pollutants exceeding critical value QCVN 10:2015/BTNMT for coastal ASEAN-criteria, including TSS, ammonium nitrate. In season, lower than indicating tourism influenced sandy beach quality. Among studied beaches, Bai Dai (Van Don) pollution; rest were low to moderate pollution. Pore charecterized by dissolved oxygen saturation high mineralization compared sea water, thus confirming role providing mineral nutrients sea. Analysis sediment grain size at medium good. Forty-seven benthic fauna species found on area, which dominant mollusks, followed crustaceans, polychaetes, echinoderms. biodiversity study an average level.

Disentangling Diversity Patterns in Sandy Beaches along Environmental Gradients

Species richness in sandy beaches is strongly affected by concurrent variations in morphodynamics and salinity. However, as in other ecosystems, different groups of species may exhibit contrasting patterns in response to these environmental variables, which would be obscured if only aggregate richness is considered. Deconstructing biodiversity, i.e. considering richness patterns separately for ...

Persistent organochlorine residues in estuarine and marine sediments from Ha Long Bay, Hai Phong Bay, and Ba Lat Estuary, Vietnam.

To assess the organochlorine contamination in the northeast coastal environment of Vietnam, a total of 41 surface sediments were collected from Ha Long Bay, Hai Phong Bay, and Ba Lat estuary, and analyzed for their organochlorine content. Organochlorine compounds (OCs) were widely distributed in the Vietnamese coastal environment. Among the OCs measured, DDT compounds predominated with concentr...

Abundances of Micrometazoans in Three Sandy Beaches in the Island Area of Western Lake Erie

During August 1978 the interstitial micrometazoa of 3 beaches on Kelley's, Pelee and South Bass Islands in the western basin of Lake Erie were sampled. Representatives of the following taxa were found: Acarina, Cladocera, Copepoda, Ostracoda, Gastrotricha, Oligochaeta, Rotifera, Tardigrada and Turbellaria. The South Bass Island beach had the greatest mean density of micrometazoans (46.5/cm), fo...

Inclusion of Health in Environmental Impact Assessment of Major Transport Infrastructure Projects in Vietnam

Background Infrastructure spending, especially in the transport sector, is expected to increase rapidly in Vietnam. This boost in transportation investment impacts health. Environmental impact assessments (EIAs) are essential tools for decision-making to reduce and mitigate anticipated impacts of development projects, and integration of health assessment as an essential part of the EIA process ...
